63rd Festival de Cannes Short Films Lineup - Last

Today the fest organizers finally announced the short films in competition. Surprisingly there are only nine (9) shorts and to my positive surprise four (4) are from Latin America, making this world area the one with the stronger representation. These are the shorts.

Blokes (Blocks), Marialy Rivas, Chile, 2010 - 15' (gay interest)
Chienne d'Histoire (Barking Island), Serge Avedikian, France, 2010 - 15'
Estação (Station), Márcia Faria, Brazil, 2010 - 15'
First Aid, Yarden Carmin, Israel - 15'
Maya, Pedro Pio Martín Pérez, Cuba - 13'
Micky Bader (Bathing Micky), Frida Kempf, Sweden and Denmark, 2009 - 14'
Muscles, Edward Houdsen, Australia, 2009 - 14'
Rosa, Mónica Lairana, Argentina, 2010 - 11'
To Swallow a Toad, Jurgis Krasons, Latvia, 2010 - 10'

Short Film Jury (Also is the Cinéfondation Jury)
President: Atom Egoyan, director, Canada
Emmanuelle Devos, Actress, France
Dinara Droukarova, Actress, Russia
Carlos Diegues, Director, Brazil
Marc Recha, Director, Spain

Also I notice that this competition has the strongest presence of female filmmakers, great news for the future. Haven't read about the shorts but according to the announcement the nine shorts represent a wide range of cinematic genres in animation, documentary and fiction.
